"Lauren as Klimt"
This image of Lauren at Greensboro, NC's Revolution Mills Conference and Event Center wedding venue is a direct homage to Gustav Klimt's use of gold in his paintings. As I was wandering the halls looking for a location to shoot Lauren in this glorious venue, I came across one of the paintings that stopped me dead in my tracks. As soon as I saw it, I knew this golden glory would be the backdrop for a bridal portrait on Lauren's wedding day.
By getting to the wedding site early enough to take an unhurried stroll around the Old Mill and take in the various art collections, look for dramatic lighting, and catalog locations, I was able to go into the shoot fully prepared with a visual inventory in my head. It's nearly impossible to scout locations during a wedding or reception so this time is already built into my day. And by talking to the bride and groom ahead of time and going over their timeline with them, you can usually flesh out when your portrait and romance session times will be. Being prepared allows for a lot more creativity because the time panic disappear and you can focus on your art.Artist homage, Brian (7), Bridal Session (71), Edited in Lightroom Only, Golden Image, Greensboro (84), Gustav Klimt, Lauren (21), NC (240), Photographer Favorites (11), Revolution Mills, Traci Arney Photography, Wedding (252). 1/200; f/1.2; ISO 125; 85.0 mm.
