The NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC was an absolute dream to shoot a wedding in. To have the the amazing range of fine art to shoot in gave this wedding an emotional resonance that, for me, was like breathing. Gleb and Lauren gave me full license to shoot anything I liked how I saw fit and I let my artistic heart run free.

Their ceremony took place in the sculpture garden just outside the museum gallery and, surrounded by the art and the modern blue walls, the chuppah for their Jewish ceremony stood out like another piece of sculpture.

Then, after the emotional ceremony, Gleb, Lauren and I explored the closed museum and photographed their romance session against art pieces like this one. I had the couple stand in front of this beautiful piece, Raqqa II, by painter .

Because I was looking for clean lines, symmetry, and a graphic nature for this very modern couple, Pre-visualizing a black and white, high key, graphic image fit the modern nature of this incredible couple. I loved the clean lines and the dramatic contrast of the image. By placing a flash behind the couple at 1/64th power and then using a prism in front of the camera lens, I was able to add yet another linear element to the shot to set the couple off even more from the painting.
